Curriculum Records presents: Eat Your Books (And Read Your Vegetables) A new CD by Mr. Seley

Hi Everyone,

My name is Mr. Seley. I teach in a 3rd and 4th grade multi-age classroom in Birmingham, Michigan. In my spare time I like to write, record and perform music for kids. Some of the songs are humorous, a few are serious, and most are a mixture of the two. I hope you like them!

Enjoy,
Mr. Seley

Why Eat Your Books?

This album has been a lot of fun to create. I’ve been leading a sing-along after school in my classroom for a few years. I always had a hard time finding songs that were perfect for kids in the upper elementary grades—so I decided to write some of my own. They turned out better than I ever expected. I hope you like the album! Join my email list and I'll send you a note when it is available.

Who Is Mr. Seley?

I grew up in Farmington, Michigan. After graduating from the University of Michigan, I taught in Osaka, Japan. When I returned to the US, I taught 1st grade on the east side of Detroit. I currently teach in a 3rd and 4th grade multi-age classroom in Birmingham, Michigan.

In elementary school, I began playing the trumpet (much to the chagrin of my neighbors). In high school, my father taught me how to play guitar, which turned out to be a way better choice for me. Since then, I learned to play the bass, drums, ukulele, and do a passable impression of singing. What I love to do most—besides teaching—is write songs for kids.

My ambitions include being a great teacher, writing excellent songs for kids, and one day—if I’m lucky—living in a tree house.
